Opening Voice Sessions

Voice is a powerful and efficient tool for transformation--it goes right to the core of who you are and who you are becoming.  Working with sound can help you reveal and remember the essence of who you are.  Giving voice to our bodies, feelings, dreams, all aspects of ourselves, is essential to our wholeness.

I bring training in sound healing, voice work, the therapeutic modalities of Hakomi and RCS, and my intuitive and listening skills.  In these sessions,  I teach people how to use sacred sound to tune themselves and I help people discover the healing power and versatility of their own voice.

Sessions are done via Skype. A 4 session package is $300 through the month of August.

"Shay Nichols is an incredible and unusual voice teacher. The voice is a very delicate and sensitive tool that is hard to open up under judgment, stress, perfectionism, or years of negative feedback. It's also an intensely effective healing tool. Most voice teachers are very traditional in having you work on technique with scales and specific songs or types of singing. Shay is unusual in that her whole approach honors what naturally comes out of you, and she knows how to use the voice in spiritually/emotionally healing ways.  Her teaching is so gentle and safe--I took a workshop of hers where nervous/inexperienced singers happened to be with pros, and everyone felt equal and at home, discovering things about their voices and feeling transformed by the end!"                                                                          Caroline Fourmy

"As a singer who draws much of her orientation towards song via spirit, I found the temple very satisfying and nourishing.  The sounding exercises helped me to continue to open up worlds of creativity.  My system was in a state of “wired and tired” due to recent stress, and as a sensitive being, I was able to ground gently and thoroughly using the sounding methods practiced.  As a woman, I appreciated practicing ways of embodiment and authentic presence.  I could feel how a palpable power is being built and normalized, which is something I wish to take with me into other areas of my life.  Each time I attend, I feel I deepen my trust in myself, the human experience, and in the beautiful capacities we have as souls in the bodies of women."                       Molly McSwiggin

"I attended a sound healing workshop given by the Women's Sound Temple, and I came away feeling deeply relaxed and connected to myself and the world around me. I didn't know anything about sound healing when I arrived, and I got a taste of what it is, leaving me with the feeling that I want more and more! I am extremely grateful to Shay, Briony and Greene for this wonderful, uplifting experience. I highly recommend their workshops and I will definitely be joining them for more!"  Jasmine Granas

“ I had the best time and feel relieved of a build up of creative energy that needed a safe space to express its self . Shay, with her gentle wisdom and guidance create a beautiful home in her workshop to unfold in, with out an ounce of judgment to slow down the experience. We went deep sea diving into the underworld of creatures and then flew with the Angels, to then land on our feet in the whimsical world with more of our heart and soul intact"        Lauren Grace

”Shay creates a safe space which allowed the freedom to dive deep, to stretch and focus our voices, our energies. I experienced a palpable grounding and opening, and recharged my connection with voice and movement. I loved the wisdom-spoken, sung, dance-exchanged with other Divers, and Shay's guidance and intuition are solid. The soundbath is sublime. Thank you for the journey, Shay!"                                                                           MaryAnn Johnston

“For me, it was being "held” so completely and safely and securely and lovingly that I could make any noise or not or be any part of me - silent or expressed, in any shape or form or mood.  Held and then nudged, ever so gently, but nudged none-the-less to just peer at my edge, my personal cliff of fear, and notice someone there with me, supporting me, guiding me. Wow!  I heard my voice - I HAVE A VOICE!  This realization is a true benefit.  And I am respecting my voice as much as others.  I am speaking more freely, and confidently.  I am sharing my voice more with everyone and actually starting to enjoy the sound of it!  I have started to include sounding/toning as therapeutic release, some days I feel like I need to get something out, express myself, and our sessions have created a new avenue to explore and
release and heal.“                                                                                                               Brianne LaBauve
